This simple and straightforward model will help Contracts & Procurement professionals to categorise contracts & orders according to their situation on the project planning in order to identify the ones being on the critical path and then define elevated priority items to be addressed right after the critical path items, then second rank priority items complete the list at the bottom of the table.
All the main steps of the contracting & procurement lifecycle are captured in the table under the form of an automated retro-planning departing from the required on site date in the last column up to the issuance of the invitation to bid documents (& even the pre-qualification phase if needed) in the first columns. You only have to enter the required onsite date and estimated lead times, then the table tells you when to start the process.

This methodology allows an optimisation of the contracting and procurement resources & efficiently allocate time and efforts. The simple structure tracks in a single glance the planned date of each phase and requires the update of its current / anticipated date of completion and actual completion date.
